Triple Whale

Triple Whale’s ‘Triple Attribution’ model is the only model there that aligns closely with how our in-platform attribution works. Any other model in Triple Whale—like last-click or Total Impact—uses different mechanisms to assign conversions and therefore may not match the AppLovin dashboard which measures all transactions that occur within a 0 or 7 day period after a user clicks on one of our ads. If you need a direct apples-to-apples comparison, we strongly recommend using Triple Whale’s Triple Attribution model.
One model within Triple Whale, the Total Impact Attribution model, which incorporates post-purchase survey (PPS) responses may create discrepancies since it assigns weights based on survey answers. To minimize gaps, make sure your survey includes options like 'Mobile games app' and captures freeform responses such as 'games,' 'apps,' or 'Candy Crush.' Please also make sure you have mapped these answers to AppLovin. This will help reflect AppLovin’s impact more accurately. Please reach out to your Triple Whale rep when you experienced issues on mapping survey answers to AppLovin.

Integration

You can find instructions for connecting with Triple Whale  here . On Triple Whale, Settings >  Integrations . Locate AppLovin and click Connect. You will be prompted to enter your API key. To retrieve this, head to your AppLovin dashboard and select  Account > Keys .
To locate your Report Key:
    Log in to  dash.applovin.com  from the Master Account.
    Go to the Account tab, then select Keys.
    Copy and paste your Report Key into Triple Whale to complete the connection.

A successful connection looks like this:
If the Accounts status says Backfill, it means Triple Whale is in the middle of fetching the last 30 days’ data. After that it will become Active. The process shouldn’t take more than a few minutes.


Landing URLs

Information When setting up your Creative Sets, please use the  Landing URL Validation Tool  to append the Triple Whale specific UTMs to all your landing URLs to ensure proper tracking:

Note: Ensure that the entire URL chain contains only one question mark (?).


PostPurchase Survey / Total Attribution Model
Make sure to map the response of "Game App" to AppLovin so that those sales are mapped to AppLovin for the Total Attribution Model
